Actually, I am not familiar with Wal-mart because I have never been there before. I just know that Wal-mart is well known for having big chains and cheap prices of goods. I didn't know that there is a conflict between Wal-mart company and its employees.
As a business major, this kind of problem related to labor and management is always difficult. Basically, I think good company has a good policy for employess.That policy is not just about high wages. It means that company should respect their employees and build trust with its employees. In case of Wal-mart, low prices for consumers and low wages for employees can be a trade-off but the attitude of wal-mart toward its employees need to be changed. If they cannot raise wages for employees, they should explain why they can't afford it or why they do not want it. Then, they can persuade and negotiate with the employees. I think appropriate response to the requirement of workers is important, even though Wal-mart has a lot of replaceable workers. Instead of low wages for employees, providing other welfare system can also be a good alternative method.
I thought black friday is a cultural events. I will be there because I want to experience and also get a stuff with cheaper prices.
